Get experience at level 70?

When I leveled in Nagrand you could collect these oshu'gun crystals from certain mobs and turn them in at halaa each 20, you got an amount of gold a pvp token and about 9k experience.

Last time I have been doing some aldor rep farming in nagrand and collected a bunch of these aswell as its still worth money I went to turn them in, Altho I'm 70 I still recieved the 9k experience.

It only worked on the first 20's I turned in, the others only gave the money and token.

Next day I done the same and again I gained 9k experience

So does this only works once a day or between intervals? Is this a bug?
Does it really add the experience? So when wotlk comes out I would be further down to level 71? Perhaps even into level 71?

Anyone who can confirm this?

(If it has been posted before I'm sorry, but people in my guild were suprised I got xp at 70 so I guess its not known by most?)

Nice, but i don't really believe that you actually get Xp it just shows that you do.

Are you sure that you didn't see this somewhere else and tried to steal it?

When you complete the quest you see in the chatlog bla +exp for you but if you have an exp bar you ll see that you dont get any exp

As far as I know xp is useless without an xp bar and i dont think it will do anything towards wotlk

This exact same idea was posted ages ago.

As far as i remember, it was turned down back then.

it was a bug, but it's fixed now, wether you get XP or not i can't say.

most likely doesnt work because pre-bc i did quests before that said i got exp but never did wen bc came out =/ nice try tho

I wonder if he's onto something with this. Sure, at 70 now you don't get XP, but the repeatable was still awarding me XP up to 70 (XP bar was moving, not just chat messages showing up), so why not hang onto the crystal powder and when WOTLK hits, just turn them all in and see what happens? It's not like the things are burning a hole in your bags.

Anyone with a beta key able to see if you get XP?

Just to be clear I did not post this or steal it from someone else in the hope to get rep'ed for it, cause thats the least I care about at this moment.

I was more asking for conformation and discussing the certain bug/exploit.

It's just kinda pointless to expect this to work. Even on the odd chance that it is working (tho' I think the WoW database would have limits placed on the maximum value of a characters xp at this time), the database isn't extended into the 71 range yet.
There's going to be a substantial down time at one point as they upgrade all of the servers to be lich king compliant at some stage in the future, and that is when the new xp tables will be added.
Frankly, if you don't own BC you can't hit 61 (or gain xp towards it), so there's no reason for a character to be able to hit 71(or gain xp at 70) without wotlk.

As the previous posters pointed out, this is simply a gui bug. It's possible that when wotlk comes out (and you buy it) you'll be able to gain xp from it again.
