get weapon procs off ranged attacks

Registered here awhile back, just recently came back. Searched for 20 minutes, came up with nothing.

If you happen to be scryers with the shattered sun neck, you can actually get melee procs from the neck, while attacking from ranged. Not sure how useful this is but it can proc things like, flurry/executioner/mongoose.

well...the melee procs don't really benefit a ranged class, and melee classes aren't going to be using ranged enough to get reliable procs xD

mongoose/executioner is nice for a hunter, although it probably wouldnt proc enough to make it good enough for a hunter. for a warrior though, procing flurry/executioner while your shooting a mage when you're stuck in a frost nova is nice.

feel free to try it, i took that screen shot right before posting this. tested on a warrior with a throwing weapon, and a bow. it seems as though the proc counts as a melee hit, which allows you to proc anything that requires you to melee hit.

if you could accurately time the proc it would be nice. switch from a 2h to mongoose/executioner 1hs. if even one procs, thats a pretty big damage bonus for a hunter, big enough to warrant using the neck.

too bad i went lazy mode and got the brutallus one, so i never repped sso to more than honored :/

the proc on the neck procs on average every 45-51 seconds, it's pretty reliable that it does this.

so the weapon enchant only procs off the necklace proc or what?? must give a pretty lousy proc chance then.. even thou it would probably be lovely for ferals too

arcane strike is the name of the proc that comes from the neck. the weapon enchants can only proc off this. (from ranged)
