If you get disconnected, it didn't work. You can't do it for more than 20 seconds or so because then you will be disconnected from the server.

    Use NetLimiter. It's alot easier.

Guessing he got his idea from Halo 2 "standbying"? Where you would hit the button on your modem and disconnect yourself off the server and go up to people and wtf pown them, then turn your interwebz back on? if so, just put your modem on "standby" when you want to get by mobs, much easier then pulling out the ethernet cable.

It differs from person to person, some peoples modems if you put them on standby it wont reconnect instantly and you will dc, and in my case my modem is not in the same place as the computer I play on.

I was just using ethernet cable as an example, theoretically any way possible to disconnect yourself briefly would work.

    =]

Edit: The idea was from Socom, not Halo. But close!

um yeah, net limiter is much better. the only problem with both is the fact that you almost always are placed at your original position.

I have tried this many times now and have never been put back to where I was, I guess it could just be luck or some unkown variable on my side, but as far as i'm aware that isn't the case.
