    long distance fireball

hey, this may well work with other spells in the game, but as i was casually playing and tabbing to target my next opponent in Av i noticed that if u casted on one target that started running out of range then targeted another which was in range ( the spell is still targeting the first person you targeted) you can still hit the first target that you casted on- even if it is very far away.

not sure if this is common knowledge with peeps but i decided to share anyway. delete if its s repost, ta

i tested this in a duel but this only works if you target another hostile target.

Sounds like it could work, a typical Blizzlol glitch.

Just tried with my mage. Didn't work with fireball or frostbolt.

Tried targeting something with the mouse after starting the cast, and tried tab targeting something else after starting the cast. Stopped both times because I was "out of range" when the cast completed.

this won't work. You can hit enemies that are already out of range cause you started casting when he started moving...the server doesn't register the movement (lag or whatever) so the dude gets the fireball even out of range. it's a known issue

I typically noticed that the Frostbolt on my mage will hit and not be Out of Range up to within 5 yards of movement (assuming that Frostbolt range has not been changed).

This means that if I start casting Frostbolt and the mob is moving away, as long as the mob doesn't move more than 5 yards than the max Frostbolt range, the spell will go through and the mob will be hit.

I typically use this to maximize my hits on a mob. I position myself so that the moving mob is moving away from me, Frostbolt, and by the time Frost is Out of Range, I hit a Fireball; it gives me more time and I can typically cast a half or even a full spell more depending on how much the mob moved and if the mob resisted the original Frostbolt.

I bet this is just based on the really old arcane missiles exploit.
It allowed you to switch targets during the channeling and it
would hit people 100s of yards away

    No you dont...

Because if your first cast finishes, the mob is too far away for a second one and you have to wait until he is in range.

So there is no difference to cast a normal spell to a mob which is in range.

    At topic:
    Tested and it doesnt works.

Bullshit. Fireball has a longer default range than frostbolt. Go learn your spells. Tested my ass

    The explanation is simple.

    1. Say the cast range of a spell is 36 Yards.

    2. You can only cast a spell if the mob is within 36 yards (ofc)

    3. However, say you castING a spell when the enemy is 30 yards and the enemy runs to 45 yards the spell will still fire. There is a limit though, so if it's around 50+ yards it will say unit out of range when you finish the casting.

    4. This is common knowledge to a mage.
