As stated, this is just your UI bugging out. I've done this myself without any macro at all, just spam Pickpocket behind an enemy and every once in a while you will see multiple loot messages, but you don't actually get the gold.

Ugh I beleive that after you re log you lose the money but couldnt you spend it before you logged off and you are basically putting the money to use before it vanishes therefore its like you really got the money?
