Extra Rapid Killing Shot

As a hunter when u have rapid killing up, u can do an aimed shot and also spam ur arcane shot burron just before your aimed shot shoots, and you will have the +20%dmg bonus to both ur aimed and arcane, if they both crit, that is about 5k dmg at lvl 70.

Ummmm i do this on my hunter all the time, 5k dmg, everytime at least if they both crit, the reason i know it works it because the rapid killing buff stays on you until the affected shot hits the target. I wish someone else would try this out and notice how well and easy it works. Its definitly one of the easier things you can do to increase your dmg as a hunter.

notice how your second shot after you get rapid killing does 20% more damage.

As you use rapid shot, your dps and ranged attack power goes up drasticly, therefor your damage increases with it (according to you, 20%). So, yes. He's not just talking out of his ass. Gj, grats on the find.

Why would the OP post something if he didn't know if it would work or not? You couldn't just go "I bet this will work" for this kind of thread.

I have no idea if this actually works or not, i haven't played my hunter in a while (he's just my AH'er atm)

I dont see why he got flamed either, this should work because it's on your next hit, if they are both thrown at the same time (just about) before they reach the target they should both do +20% dmg due to the fact that..well, they didnt "hit"... bah you get what I mean

I was just asking a question. I couldn't recall it saying in the combat-log something like Your Aimed shot hits for xxx dmg (+20% from Rapid Killing), so it would be pretty much up to some collection of stats to determine if both shots gets the +20% bonus from Rapid Killing.

I've done this a bit now, and it seems like it might be working. Hard to know for sure though.

I don't know how the game mechanics for shots work. Is the damage calculated as the shot is started, fired or when it lands? Is the bonus added as the shot is started, fired or lands?

If this should work, the +20% bonus should be applied to the shot as it leaves the gun and the damage calculated as it lands. Seem awkward to me, but it might be that way.

Anyway, it seems to work, and even if its not this seems like a good thing to do. More damage, etc.

The mechanics of a shot are calculated as it is fired, the same reason why a mage can kill somoene with a frostbolt after he dies, once its shot, that is what is is going to do.
