The mechanics of a shot are calculated as it is fired, the same reason why a mage can kill somoene with a frostbolt after he dies, once its shot, that is what is is going to do.

Not exactly, a rogue can vanish after it was shot, it will still follow and hit you, but it wont do dmg or break stealth.

yes it will if rogue vanishes just as you shoot, vanish has some kind of 0.5 sec immunity to everything when used, but if you shot just before the person vanished by the time the shot reaches the rogue it will do both damage and bring him out of stealth.

I did that plenty of times b4 TBC when I was farming on my hunter, It definately works just fine.
