is this still working me and 4 mates are leveling alts to check this out :P
well as a reply to my own post, it really does works, and WAY good ^^
Great thread, got from 36-54 today. +rep and good night
My lock was stuck at 29ish after they fixed the warlock glitch. Ran him through sm to 35 and then did this with great results.
Some tips:
Sit in the corner closest to where you can fall off. Everything will hit you in the front. (not as demonstrated in the last picture, we were done and just messing around).
Make a macro to cast concencration and use your trinket. Set up a clicker to click it every so often. Then stay close to change your shields when they go red but this way you can watch tv. Play games on xbox etc.
Repair bots work great!

I really need a pally friend... I asked in trade for a decent prot pally I could hire and people wanted 2k+ gold to do this for 6 hours.
I powerleveled my lock up to 37 in SM, and now im having to quest and it really, REALLY, sucks knowing that this could get me to 52 in so little time and effort.
Thats really cool!Gonna test it!
I'd like to add some extra information.
The last time I tried this I was having problems with Mijan just failing to heal. No matter what the situation was He seemed to refuse to heal Zolo (Has anyone else faced the same situation? How were you able to fix it if so? I know that he supposivly only heals mobs at >40% but even with Zolo on 3% for a good 2 minutes He didn't get a single heal).
As a work around to deal with this I altered the positioning of my alts. I first took the stairs on the left of the entrance (long spiral staircase) and cleared the floor of dragons. This allowed me to also quickly find the trolls and mark them up (Just as a point of interest, the first troll boss spawn area you run into while heading to the troll bosses is the first platform on the right as you come out into the large dragon area).
After this I left the alts sitting tight near the platform Zolo was on.
The pally went up and picked him up.
The pally then moves to the corner of the platform (as described numerous times before to assist in blocking).
Regular farming commenced.
By doing this I was able to safely do two things.
The first, I could heal the tank without having to worry about aggro. This was handy as I could use a lower level pally or a horribly geared pally without the block->HP trinket. The reason behind this is that the path from where the mobs are to where the alts are is not pathable for whatever reason (distance I believe). By doing this you may be able to use another class for the tanking job as long as they have some sort of AoE (well geared lock or maybe a mage for instance).
The second was that I could quickly reset the encounter and regen the bosses HP by having the pally cast Divine Shield or Blessing of Protection and having an alt heal the pally. This causes a reset due to the pally no longer being a possible target for the boss (due to immunity) and the alt gaining aggro from the heal. This allowed me to effectively reset the encounter quickly and fairly regularly (3 min CD on BoP(talented) and 5min CD on DS).
Just as another tip, your alts can jump from the top onto the outer rim of the dragon room and can land on a ledge that goes for the most part around the entire dragon room. From ehre they are safe from aggro and dying to the dragons below. However, there are some ranged caster dragons in some packs which will still be able to target you so use your judgement on where you drop down if you want to.
Thorns won't work since it requires you to take damage, hence the use of a low lvl shield spike that does damage when you block.
Is this boosting still working after 2.4.3? Some people have started making rumours that it has been hotfixed.
I've searched for it and haven't found anything. Hope it still works but if someone can confirm...
Also anyone know how much block/parry/dodge/defense is needed to do this?
Edit: A druid using thorns on the tank will likely pull agro from a skellie or two, which you will have to outlast without doing any kind of healing otherwise you'll be pulling more skellies.
Edit2: Since it's not really mentioned in this thread you can boost from lvl35 (entrylvl to ST) to ~lvl56.

With the level of the mobs, how does the alt tag the mobs effectively at lvl 35? That's the only part I'm missing. Also, whats the lowest level you need to be as the pally to perform this?
The alt doesn't tag them, the high level does.
Yea i use a prot warrior to do this and the cheapest most durable shield you can use for this is
Item: Layered Bone Shield :: World of Warcraft :: Allakhazam.com
If you have about 20-25 of those and iron shield spikes on all of them, you can last 4+ hours before you have to repair your shields...
with a 70s repair cost each on those shields it's a pretty good deal.
ALSO something new about the skeleton mobs... since the last patch they've gone from 46/47 to 49 which means in a group you can basically boost all the way to outlands.
Morons, the correct gramatical phrase is "common knowledge"
What was your method for using the prot warrior? Since my post I had taken one in to test it. My warrior is full tanking epics, but they still managed to take him down in less than 5 minutes.
Do you just use the trinket? (That I dont have)
Or do you only powerlevel healer alts. (and how did you get them to heal without getting destroyed by the constantly spawning skele's.)
Hi
Maybe you and other people can benefit from my experience in doing this.
First of, I can tell you that a shaman with a shield wont work.
The reason for this is, that you need about 71% avoidance to avoid getting hit. With 71% avoidance I mean the sum of the dodge, parry and block procent under your character screen ("c" is default key for this) and the "defenses" tab.
So if you are going with a warrior make sure he has at least 71% avoidance, or else you need to pot from time to time. Atm im going with a 70,7% avoidance warrior, and I need to take about 3 super healing pots pr. 1½ hour.
I havent tried to do it with a paladin though. But I guess that you dont need exactly 71% avoidance to pull it off, because you can bubble and heal up from time to time.
So to sum up, you need 71% avoidance (parry, dodge and block) to avoid getting burned down.
I hope this will help you.
Yea very nice.
