In the "Discovering your roots" daily quest you temporarly get a pet that you later use for digging up roots, the pet will also fight for you and replace your current pet. Questlink: Discovering Your Roots - Quests - World of Warcraft

Hunters can train these pets using skills in the train-pet section. There seems to be no cap at how many skills can be trained, since no training-points is displayed.

Free pet training and can actually be quite usefull while dealing with this quest.

Intimidation and Bestial Wrath can also be used with this "borrowed" pet.

if you tame the boar can you train it all of the points at once or do you have to gain pet rep to get more points that you are required to do when you train a new pet? or is this only happens while you do the quest?. would be cool to have a boar with maxed out skill points

Its not a boar you get, its a ravager. And you dont need rep or anything, you can just train anything you want.

everyone talking about SMV is actually wrong. there is a quest to call boars over. but the one that t heOP is talking about is the Daily Quest you get from the Alch Lab person on the Isle during phase 4.

and please everyone, dismiss the pets before flying off. it reportedly glitches them otherwise and no one else can use them(they show up as evading and tagged)
