this is bannable for you and your friend; however... If you give your friend the stuff about a week or so before you get "hacked" then I think you would be ok... And I dont think that the tuesday maintnence saves your character lol; Ive been hacked twice and both times wernt reset from what I had tuesday; I believe they check the logs and .add item xxxxxxxxxx then mail it.

And it most likely wouldnt take a few hours lol, both times i got hacked, it took up to 5 days maybe a week to get my stuff back

A few days ago I got this message from Blizzard, after hacking an account:

Account Name: ******
Date of Violation: 2008/04/11
Character Name Involved: ******
Type of violation: Unauthorised access of another account
Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 24 hours

Your friend will be banished from 24hours and up.
This exploit won't work, as you have a limited restoration on your
account aswell.

Once I got hacked my a friend, and he sent the gold to him, and another friend, one of them got permanent banishment while the other one got 72 hour banishment. And he had to unlock his account again with personal ID.

When you send your gold to your friend, the gold ID will stay the same, and Blizzard can track it down, restore it to you, and banish your friend for the same reason posted above.

-Your account has 624gold

1. Delete your eqipment
2. Your friend puts a grey item on AH, with the buyout on 624gold.
3. You buy that item, recive the grey one, and he get's the gold.

-What happend here, is that the gold got a new ID, and cannot be
tracked any further. So there is also a chance Blizzard won't
restore your gold at all, but if your lucky, they will.

when i did this sorta thing (because i was deleting my char) they just gave back my character with nothing on it. they did not give me any of my items back in anyway shape or form...i think in the end you kinda got lucky

Lol, you know you say about mailing the primals and stuff to the friend, blizz will know something is up, ever since that huge bannning incident, they track mail now, so best to trade your items to your friend.

Too risky for people holding your stuff. Perhaps if you want to sell off gold and don't care about the person buying the gold. But to do it to friends?

hmm. this could work but as you said you are in georgia , but then again could work in UK. but the GM's would check the logs anyway so its not really worth the risk or you and your freinds getting banned

Did I say anything about mailing items? No.

I said I gave them to a friend AKA trade.

And blizzard does save characters every tuesday, I've had blizz personally tell me that on the phone when I was getting a diff char restored.


No action was taken on either of us, and I doubt any will.

Funny you noobs think he's going to get banned, he has done nothing wrong.

He took free items someone was giving away.

He wasen't on my friends list and I have never chatted with him on that character.

Well, if hacker would scam someone, and send all the stuff to a random player, I don't think the random would get banned. They can't prove that the item holder was the actual scammer. (Maybe with IP, but send them to another guy.)
EDIT: I would really laugh if someone would do this and it wouldn't work
