How to create an own Private Server

Hello,

I want to host my own Private Server and have a server machine already running.

My question is where do I have to start?
I'm a little bit confused.
I found several tutorials but it seems that they are for older versions.

I want to run Mists of Pandaria on my server.

How to I setup a MoP Server ? With Trinity-Core?
I also found the Apex Team with their repack of the Project Skyfire sources.
Can I use the Skyfire sources?

I want a server which I can maintain and update.
My preferred OS would be a Linux OS.
