    Does anyone use ArcEmu nowadays?

Hello! I'm planning to return and refresh my lua knowledge. However I'm not sure if the outdated ArcEmu is a good choice now. Does anyone use the mentioned core (3.3.5) now? Does it worth to develop with (/for) it? Does any other core use the luaengine yet? Thanks for the answers.

I am still using ArcEmu for my current "fun" server I am creating, I have not run into any problems with the latest rev and it seems to be quite stable. I believe it is still being worked on as well. I too like the use of LUA so I tend to stick with ArcEmu for that reason.

ArcEmu is a horrible mess and very, very unstable. You won't notice these major issues until you start running a public server. Do not go near it. Go with TrinityCore, do yourself the favour now. I know I should have when I started my project.

I'm not planning to go public, just want to make some custom content that can be shared here, on the ownedcore in the future. Thank both of you for the reply.

You can share the content but nobody will use it. ArcEmu has been made redundant because of how far behind it is and how many flaws it has. It has no chance of catching up, especially since it only has a couple of active developers who aren't that active.

Arcemu isn't exactly dead, but it's not in good shape right now. The only active dev (commit wise, I haven't been in their irc in a while) is dfighter. Even so, he's only able to get a few commits done in a month.

If you're looking to release stuff for the community, writing scripts for TrinityCore is your best choice.

TrinityCore and ArkCORE are both widely used. (Not sure what the difference is so far at any rate) Mangos is semi hurting lately it seems, but is still putting along.
