Little help here for a simple question

When i read a thread *How to compile your own private server* I only see how to make a server from the beginning..

But i wanna know how to fix bug's on my server, not make one..

Im totally lost, could someone please tell me in detail what you actually do when you are compelling and how you should start fix your bug's.
For example using C++ or open you SQL Database and modify or whatever..

Im noob but you gotta start somewhere :>

    Thanks in advance.

WoW is too big a game to describe every possible solution to each problem, however if you have specific questions, it is much easier to answer.

Bearing in mind you will get better answers when asked politely on the forum boards for the emulator you are trying to edit, we can still provide good information and do not get annoyed fast whereas other developers do.

The database stores all data that is required to be retained after a server restart. The DBC files contain most of the game data (spells etc) which TrinityCore and Mangos both load from over the DB. ArcEmu parses a lot of information through the database instead, allowing you to do easier modifications to that data (editing DBC data is often server-side only and will not show on the client).

Everything is scripted in C++ obviously, so when browsing a file in the project solution, you can look at a function and see how stuff is handled. If you want to see how a specific function works, you can right click on it and press "go to source" or "go to definition". This is useful when debugging/trying to fix a bug, since you look at how the emulator handles it, and you alter it to function how you want it to.

Hope this provides some brief information.

Thanks alot stoneharry for your helpful answer!.
Do you know any thread's that might show me basic debugging?, or do you think i will understand if i just open files in DBC?

Just one question aswell; Im trying to open a file in C++ in this case it is "Spell.dbc" located in DBC folder, but i get the following message *Make sure the application for the file type(.dbc) is installed*?.

    Regards

The DBC format is a custom one created by Blizzard. You can find many DBC viewing/editing tools within the Model Editing section, since they regularly manipulate them. This is the unchanging Blizzlike data that Blizzard stores on the client, and server side, so changing them has little effect.

Debugging is a process learnt within any language, so start programming and then debugging when things don't work, through practice comes knowledge and experience. You will be able to apply this to WoW programming (which it is highly recommended you do not start with).
