Adding item to a character's iventory via db

I was wondering how to add items to a player's inventory via the db(for automation of adding items from website)

Any method will work, such as sending mail, addign to bank, or inventory, just as long as it gets to them.

Go to your logon ( or character.. dont remember ) database and go to Mailbox.

There you can insert a new query and fill the information out.
It's pretty much common sense what to put in there.

this doesnt work, it takes about an hour for the main to show up and the mail_tems table also need the item you want. anyways, i received the main, but the tex was blank (after making the words an id of 3 and putting the id as the message) and nothing was attached(weapon) so could you give an exact query to follow cause I think im doing something wrong.

tried to add item through "character_inventory", but dunno what needs to be inserted in the column "item_template".

anyone?

p.s. i'm real noob, hence I'd appreciate step-by-step instruction

I tried to do it in such a way:

inserted my guid
inserted bag "0"
inserted slot number "35" [that would be in the backpack]
inserted "item" - 50730

what should I insert in "item template" field?

Have you tried just leaving it blank ?
If that doesnt work go to your character ingame give yourself an item that only you would have and then go into the database and search for the Items ID and copy its Item_template

Are you using Mangos? Trinity? Arc? The methods available to you and syntax used would differ greatly depending on that.
