What the hell has happened to the databases and LUA scripts?

    Greetings once again,

I got a little issue once again.
I hope that I disturb none of you with this thread.

    Anyway, lets get started.
I got my server up and running somehow and now in this point when I want to get some custom npcs, scripts and items, I find out that (at least) the world database has changed a lot. It reminds me more of Mangos DB but still it's not that either.
Really, I created <scripts> folder into the directory where my server files are but they don't seem to affect in any way.
The another thing is that there are tens of tables which seem to be related somehow to the creatures.

Example, number one: I got a teleporter lua script, put it in the scripts folder. I went to make a npc first on WoW-V and found out that the database structure is the closest to Mangos. I started to create it manually. I succeed in creating it out somehow (BUT STILL!!) it only says: "Greetings <name>". I tried to set npcflag etc. but still it doesn't work.

Yes, I'm pretty "new" to these new cores and databases. Last time when I had a running WoW server was when the WOTLK had came out (ArcEmuif I remember correctly and WhyDB *not sure though*).

    [E]xtra information about my server:
    - Running on MySQL (changed to MySQL from MySQL5 a while ago)
    - Skyfire Emulator (Trinity core)
    - Skyfire DB
    - Server files are compiled by myself (I hate using repacks)

What the hell has happened to the databases and LUA scripts?

Trinity is a fork of MaNGOS, correct, therefore it does not have a Lua engine built into the core.

And I guess that there isn't a way to add a LUA engine into the core?

Well, is there any other cores & databases nowadays which support Cataclysm 4.1?

There's no updated Lua engine for MaNGOS / Trinity, and I don't know a lot about Cataclysm emulation, sorry.

How about ArcEmu? Is it still available and if it is, is it available for cataclysm?

    Welcome to ArcEmu
Yes, it has a Lua engine, but it is still for 3.3.5a.

Unfortunately it looks like I'm not getting a good emulator and database (which is enough easy to use) for 4.1 then.

You didn't usually get both ever.

That is true... But they were enough good to be used even if they had a few bugs.
I sometimes even think how can Blizzard have such great servers without any bigger bugs...

Edit: I read that lua scripting isn't the best opinion for Cataclysm (C++ is better in scripts nowadays). Not sure though what I think about this but...

Skyfire isn't trinity. It's an offspring of trinity that's patched to work with cata and is basically a glorified sandbox. Last time I checked at least (first revision, correct me if i'm now wrong about that). About blizzard too... They're a multi-billion dollar company. Unfortunately no emulator has a support base of 6 million people paying them $15 a month; and a dev team devoting 100% of their time to development. They're working on it. Patience is a virtue my friend. In the meantime, compile you up a nice 3.3.5 emu and find a good db. Play retail along with it if you're that cata hungry.

SkyFire is not a glorified sandbox. It's is very functional. Powers about 95% of the private servers now as it is. Although many have renamed it.
