Change Item Links Color?

so i heard you can change items link colors, via a simple mySQL query? i was wondering how, like for example "cff000000" is a certain color code, and i would want it to be applied to a certain weapon in the database? could someone explain how this can be done?

Do you mean the item name color? If so here's a query:

(|cff000000Nameofitem)

UPDATE `items` set `ìtem_name` = '|cff000000SWORD' where `ìtem_name` = 'SWORD';
