Mangos Platinum 1.12.1 Help for a noob.

Hello all.

I am very new to the world of Warcraft (only got it yesterday haha). I have a copy of the classic World of Warcraft, and it is 1.12.1.

I have downloaded the Mangos Platinum 1.12.1 repack thing from http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...u-servers.html and installed it.

I wish to be able to play on a private server by myself offline, and i believe this is how to do so?

Can anyone show me/link me a quick guide how to use this?

When i open Mangos, i am given "Start SQL", "Start Realm" Start Mangos DB" and "Stop SQL"

I have no clue what happens when i click each of these. Do i need to just edit the WoW server.wtf file or whatever it is called? Can anyone help?

I'd suggest using MaNGOS Zero though. Platinum is VERY old, and Zero is still being actively developed. MaNGOS Zero can be found here: ZeroProject

Find a guide on how to compile MaNGOS, but instead of using the GIT repo they tell you to use, use this git repo instead: https://github.com/mangos/zero
That way, you'll have a constantly updated 1.12.1 core.

As Valmere has stated, Platinum is years old, so you should use something newer (Like MaNGOS Zero).
