    Updated Guides?!

    Hey everyone,
I am a complete noob at server emulation, and looking through the guides on the forum have helped me out a lot. The thing I have noticed though, is that they are all outdated? I have tried compiling both ArcEmu and Trinity cores but came to dead ends with both.

ArcEmu: Had an easy time with it up until you copy the .dll files from OpenSSL & MySQL (collision.dll, libeay32.dll, etc). I managed to find the two lib dll's but collision is nowhere to be found? Google search and some forum digging returned nothing but similarly outdated guides.

Trinity: Followed TC's wiki page with mostly not problem, until it came time to extract dbc, vmaps and maps. After extracting the wiki (and many guides) tell you to move the folders to the "SOURCE\bin\Win32_Release" folder... But the structure in my Source folder is completely different? I looked through the whole thing, there is no "bin" folder at all.
    CLICK FOR PIC.

So now I am at a complete loss. Is there anyone who would be able to help me out or perhaps make an updated guide for us complete noobs? I have honestly tried to figure all this stuff out myself, but having no experience, it is proving to be quite difficult, as most of the other guides and tutorials I have found are very similar and also outdated.

Thanks so much for any and all help! My half finished Trinity Core and I would appreciate it! Haha

Your pic link isn't working. I'm not too familiar with trinity but I am familiar with mangos (been using it for years) which trinity is a spinoff of mangos. So I'm guessing you've gotten as far as compiling the core? I'm not sure how trinity's svn repository works but mangos' includes extractors without having to compile them. Keep in mind, any work you do on the core should be saved to a separate folder. When you compile your core, the finished product will be saved in the bin folder under a new folder (win32 release if compiled in 32 bit and win64 release if compiled in 64 bit). If you're saying there is no bin folder then you haven't compiled the core yet.

Hey Freeman thanks for your reply. I actually dug through Trinity's forums and someone posted the exact same question there minutes after I posted this. Turns out the Wiki itself is wrong, as it tells you to look in your SOURCE folder, when you should be looking in your BUILD folder.

Got my server all up and running now. Thank you for your reply!

Good deal. Seems trinity is a bit different as to how the directories are set up and what not. For me, the directory visual c++ spits the finished product out for MaNGOS looks like C:\MaNGOS\source\bin\x64_Release. What I do from there is create a folder on my desktop and copy and paste the server files, required dlls, config files, and extractors there. It's all personal preference really. I like to keep my source folder clean lol. Glad you got figured it out though. Good luck.
