    Extendedcosts Severely Bugged

I recently updated both my core and my WhyDB. Arcemu Revision 3844, WhyDB Revision 149.

Extended costs are not working in game however; vendors that are supposed to require arena points, tokens, or honor for items are giving them away for free.

I just re-extracted my DBC files and placed them in my Arcemu folder replacing the old ones to see if that would help. I've also checked my 'Vendors' table and items that are defined in the 'extended_cost' column are still being given away for free.
This is a pretty big bug and we're currently in Beta. We're going live soon so getting this fixed is pretty important. Is this a DBC problem, a core problem, or a database problem? And how is it fixed? If you need additional info please ask.

    Please help - thanks!

Hey there Talrain, it had a similar problem to this a while ago on my server, as my server relied (and still does) almost entirely on extended costs. Firstly, let me ask you this, did you compile the core off your own knowledge, or were you guided / assisted by someone else?

I compiled based off of guides. I was originally on 3.3.2 and now 3.3.5a which was fine at first until I compiled again to update a few days ago. I received 15 succeeded, 0 failed etc. Then I moved logon and world.exes into the main folder along with collision.dll as well as the script_bin folder. I essentially went along the lines of the arcemu compiling guide on their wiki.
Thanks for responding and any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

This sounds like the patch-up may have inadvertently messed something up, or this could be a mistake when moving a file etc etc... anyways, this is a tad over my head, so I'm terribly sorry that I must 'throw in the towel' on this one buddy. Ask around here, there are many experts on problem solving in compiled cores.

Did you apply database updates when you updated your core?

They probably changed the structure in some way.

It's also possible a developer slipped up with a commit, in which case you can check the commit logs and see if there were any relevant changes.

Try updating again now that a full day passed, if a developer made a mistake it's probably fixed by now.

Loaded every update to world, logon, and character when I first started as well as every WhyDB changeset. Just updated again loaded all of the new updates from those. No new changesets. Everything looks fine in the database. Extended_cost column is filled in on the vendors table and everything.

Really wishing I had gone with Mangos right now.

Edit: Okay, if I enter .npc vendoradditem item# 1 costid# it works. However, problem being that if I do this for every vendor that has cost ids in the game, it will literally take days. That being said, any idea why it works manually, but not when entered into the database?
