Help! NPC's Spawning below the ground!!

    Hi!
I'm having theese really annoying issues where some mobs are being spawned below the ground. At least I figure they are below the ground. :P
They stalk players and attacks them without players being able to defend themselves.

It has to be the result of displaced spawning coords.
I don't know why but I hoped that the maps and vmaps would correct this problem for me. Sadly, that wasn't the case.

Anyway, is there a quick way to fix this issue and remove the npc's that are being spawned at theese frustrating positions?

I'd like to avoid as many unneccessairy deaths as possible :P
It's an issue well beyond frustraing.
Both for the players that get's killed, and for me trying to find and delete theese npc's manually whenever they are reported...
    Please, help me out?

Easy solution would be to get a new database.

Are you certain that they are spawning underground? An easy way you could check is basically just to teleport to your current x and y, but change your z.

I suppose so, if noone knows of a quick way to fix this I'll start importing different repack variations of the creature_spawns table. Because this is highly annoying :P

Well, I've tried two different versions of the creature_spawns table and they all seem to have the same mobs spawning below the ground.
    Sollution, anyone?

I wouldn't suggest using repacks. I would just suggest getting a clean install.

But I don't understand, a repack is simply a compiled and ready server-release. If I were to compile my own, I'd still have the same databases to choose from, and there wouldn't be any difference, would it?
I bet This'd be solved if I could, somehow add the value of "1", to the Z-coordinate collumn, on all of my spawning creatures in the "creatures_spawn" table.
That would result in them all, spawning slightly above ground, but gravity will eventually pull them down anyway so it shouldn't be significant.
I've seen allot of SQL update scripts arround and this should be an easy job, only if I knew how to do.

Please, anyone with a little knowledge, what would a code that added "1" to the creature_spawns table, look like?

The difference between repacks and actual source is that some people compile repacks after modifying their source files, and not testing them.
I agree with Zymus, compile your own, just use the Repack as a base for the files you will use.

Here is the SQL you requested though.

    Code:
    UPDATE creature_spawns SET position_z = position_z+'1';

    AWESOME! Thanks!!
I think this code actually will do the trick!!! =D
I figure there might still be some rare cases where they still spawn beneath the ground but this simple pice of code'll probably save me tons after tons of work.
I'll get right back after this is tested
