    Login problems

    I am running a 3.3.5 server, it is public. Now, I'm using a desktop on my lan to host this. When I try to connect I get the realmlist loop, but when my friends from a different state try to play, it lets them see their characters and actually play. What is the problem?

    Also, now if I go to a different wifi, it still has the same problem, why?! My friends can play, and not me! I really do not understand this!

    Since it's on your lan, use the internal IP rather than the external IP, or vice versa.

    I don't remember which you should be using, so just try the opposite.

    Internal IPs generally are 192.168.x.x.

    ok so you are useing a computer at home and a dif computer to play right. if so just use the same realm id they are useing. and second you did do your host file in you windows folder right. like mine is
    127.0.0.1 mercwow.no-ip.biz and next line is
    localhost mercwow.no-ip.biz. Just do a serch in the windows folder in c: for host file it has examples to follow. Do this on server computer.

    Just a note about networking: If you're connecting to the server, from the same IP the server is hosted on(ie you're running it on your desktop, and you're connecting from you're desktop) you must use 127.0.0.1. If you're connecting from a different computer than the one the server is on, but still on the same LAN, you must use the 192.168.X.X. If you're connecting from any other machine, you mush use the server-ip(ie some.wow.server.no-ip.org);
