    Custom Areas

I know people make custom areas using actual walls and not objects like boxes. I was wondering how to do this because I want to make my own custom mall or pvp area. Please help.

Offtopic: Why do I receive errors on building/compiling my server? I never knew the reason but there were things that never worked on my servers. Since I only know Java and not much C++. I'm using Arc Emu's svn.

Dragon, these walls are either gameobjects that exist (ie. Wintergrasp walls) or model editing. If you wish to get into model editing, there are some excellent guides in the model editing section. One of the stickies list all of them.

If you would like to get these walls in gameobject form, one of the easiest methods is to download old gameobject packs (easily found with a simple search of the forums) and look through the SQL files. Usually the order for what you need is:

Entry ID, Type, Name, Display ID

Due to the fact that the number of columns have changed over the years, you'll need to create your own entry. Go into the gameobject_names table, start a fresh line, and type in a entry ID of your own choice (that doesnt conflict with any others, I like to use 200000 and up), the proper type (which there are lists for online, or may be in the sql file you found), a name of your choice, and the display ID. The rest of the fields may be left blank.

You need to create the game objects yourself in the database.

    1. Go into the DBC's and find the display id's for the objects themselves( Walls, buildings, etc)
    2. Go open your database and go into gobject_names or whatever it's called and put in the required
information for a new gobject. use the display ID you found in the dbc's.
    3. save it all and restart your server, in game type .gobject spawn ID

if you want to perm spawn it, type .gobject spawn ID 1

    edit:

rizu pretty much explained it, and I showed how to do it

    edit #2:

you can use this for buildings, etc.
