    [ArcEmu] Bug Fixes

    Is there a comprehensive guide on applying bug fixes to a compiled server?

    I have Arcemu Revision 3247 with WhyDB 100 and it has a few spell bugs, you can't create a guild in game, and mobs inside instances do not attack.
    Thus, I am curious if there is a guide or outside site somewhere that has fixes and guides on how to fix problems such as these (or even create your own fixes). I've spent about 40 minutes searching for such a noob guide to no avail.

    Thanks!

    It depends on what kind of bugs you want to be fixed.

    If they are core related, you CANNOT fix them on a compiled core.

    If they are database related, you can connect to your world database
    via heidsql or navicat and go to the specefic table, creature_names / creature_proto for example if they are mob/npc related and you can fix them there.

    Your thread title should be tagged with your emu.

    for example:

    Suggesting that you have ArcEmu Rev 3147 (Since you know what this is, i can presume this is your own compile), when you open the sln file to compile, select under arcemu-world and from there, it requries advanced C++ scripting i would say, and not something you can have in a guide as the thing you need to do constantly changes, so im sorry if you cant fix it via the database.

    Yeah I just got the warning for it. Forgot about that.

    Anyhow, I figure I may as well post this in here rather than start a new post even though it's a bit off topic:

    I'm trying to get vmaps working. Here's the situation. I have WoW 3.3.2 on my computer and the compiled server on a virtual server; the virtual not having WoW installed on it of course.
    Here's what Arcemu's guide says:
    Code:
    Files required in your WoW directory: Create/Move the following files in your wow directory.

        * buildings - Directory
        * maps - Directory
        * vmaps - Directory
        * vmapextract_v2.exe - Executable
        * vmap_assembler.exe - Executable

       1. Copy vmap_assembler.exe from assembler/Debug to your WoW directory. Repeat this for extractor/bin/Win32/DebugAS/vmapextract_v2.exe.
       2. Run vmapextract_v2.exe - this will take a long time (1 to 2 hours).
       3. Create the directory vmaps inside your WoW directory. If you don't make this directory, the assembler tool will fail.
       4. After this is done, run vmap_assembler.exe. While this is running, continue with the next section.
    I am confused by the second part of step 1 (Repeat this for extractor/bin/Win32/DebugAS/vmapextract_v2.exe.) seeing as I have no such path. It seems like its written for someone with more experience than I. Can someone translate this for me into terms more understandable for my situation? I've scoured mmowned and even google for a vmaps tutorial and have come up empty handed. I appreciate any help. This also seems to be the issue that's affecting my instances.

    Thanks

    I haven't ever used vmaps, but I will presume its something that needs compiling from you itself, they do this too with ad.exe, try and locate the vmapsextract_v2 sln file and build it, this should create the directory with the program inside.
