[ArcEmu] Friend W7 and Server Windows XP

My friend tried to make a private wow server on his windows 7 computer using arcemu repack 8 (supporting wow patch 3.0.. He got to the point where he could see his realm but was unable to connect. After trying and trying, I tried myself and it worked on my windows xp computer. Now that I'm trying to make it public for just the 2 of us, he still can not connect to me.

obvious stuff: My computer is windows xp, netframework 3.5, arcemu repack 8, wow patch 3.0.8

Does he receive unable to connect?

Had your IP address changed since you set it to your DynDNS? It would be helpful if you do post the full address so we can troubleshoot for you.

ok so my friend is getting "unable to connect"

    taleoffew.dnsdojo.com

from what my friend has said, now that I'm hosting the server he went and edited the website's properties to include my ip address as the "source" or something. The ip address we entered was pulled from this web page using my computer. What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address

I am also using a defined ip address 192.168.x.xxx for my lynksis router to allow ports obviously

My computer isn't on 24/7 thus the server isn't either. I'll have it on from now til 10pm (pacific), after that I'll be away on Saturday so if someone knows a specific time they can help, I'll be glad to have the server available to connect to.

I have created 2 accounts for people to temporarily use, both on BC 3.0.8
    Account: asdf
    Password: asdf

    Account: asdf2
    Password: asdf2

I've been researching this problem myself with no real luck unfortunately. I did however, stumble upon the server boot feedback stating "BCSystem error! world broadcast empty? fill it first!"

I don't know if that's a problem or not but seeing that it has "broadcast" and "error", I would assume that it might be my problem.

Thats not your problem, that is just something in your database. I believe that allows the server to send messages every so often. Anyways its completely unrelated.

It could possibly be a bad dns or blocked ports. Required ports are
    3724 (Realmlist), 8129 (World).

are you saying that I may need to open those 2 ports to possibly fix the BCSystem error?

Dont bother with that "BCSystem" Error it will not effect wether or not you can connect to the server, it is just a world broadcast system that is implemented into the core but the database table for it is empty so it has no messages to broadcast.

But i cannot really help you with the whole making it public thing atm as i havent done emulation for ages.

have you forwarded any more than this? as the world server uses port 8129, logon uses 8093 and the realm server uses 3724. it may also be worth opening the mysql port on 3306.

these required ports are all out of range of 6881-6999

    Great.

For anyone to read this thread with a similar problem, you need to open ALL ports listed in your config files (Look through them), or else connections wont be handled properly.
