[Maps] AD.exe Issues

I cannot get ad.exe to run for the life of me. I run it, the command prompt flicks up for a split second and then closes after doing absolutely nothing. What am I missing/doing wrong?

Run it in a batch file, with 'Pause' at the end so u can see the error.

It says could not find Data/common.mpq-2. I'm trying to run a 1.12.1 server, I did a fresh install from my wow CDs (v1.9) and then patched to 1.12.1, so it should be there, but it's not.

Edit: Turns out that common.mpq-2 isn't in the WoW classic files. Is there a version of AD.exe specifically for older versions?

So it turns out that I needed to get an older AD.exe, rename patch-2.mpq to patch-2.mpqx and rename terrain.mpq to patch-2.mpq.

Hey, I know this is a really old thread, but I've been having the same problem as above^^. So can some1 here tell me where i can find an older version of the ad.exe. Ive practically have been driving myself insane looking for it.
