    Decisions, Decisions...

I absolutely LOVE developing things on WoW private servers, seeing my ideas turned into the game! It's a great feeling, but I have some major things holding me back, I've had a lot of questions recently, and most of them have been answered, but I'm back here with a couple main questions, and I thank ANYBODY in advance for taking the time out of your day to reply! Thank you again!

1] What core should I use! Rawr! I've been through this decision so many times, and can NEVER come up with an answer, so here are the things I need in the core!
    • 3.1.X or 3.1.3 capability, it NEEDS to support these patches.
    • It needs to support LUA, I am willing to someday learn more C++ but, I can't find a decent guide that lets me know how to do things, and teach me scripting monsters, objects to do the things I want!
    • I'll be making a lot of custom things, and scripting bosses, etc, so I hope there is no HUGE error with creating quests etc on the server.
    • I also need to know what database to use with the core.

If you know something like a C++ scripter or something like that, or a guide that can really teach it to me efficiently with monster scripting, recommend that to me please, if supporting LUA is too much of a problem, though I prefer it judging by the fact their are more guides to LUA.

If you know any guides with compiling this core that you recommend me, please, please give me a link, I'm very new to compiling, and this will be my first time attempting it, so any extra help would leave me very happy. Thanks.

2] One out of the blue question. Is there a way you can make custom titles?

3] Another out of the blue question, is there a way you can make an item (on use) or a quest (on completion) give you a title that's already in the game?

Thank you so much for whoever replies! I really would appreciate it!

1.The only emulators that support lua are Hearthstone & ArcEmu, but I would not recommend either. I would use TrinityCore2.
    2. Depends what you mean by title (If you mean a real title - like Gladiator, no, without client side eidts)
    3. Yes.

In my opinion Aspire Hearthstone has the best 3.1.x support

"2] One out of the blue question. Is there a way you can make custom titles?"
Yes there is. Two ways actually.

One being DBC editing; which requires you to distribute a patch to all your clients.

The other option is to use http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...-core-mod.html

"3] Another out of the blue question, is there a way you can make an item (on use) or a quest (on completion) give you a title that's already in the game?"

If you go with dbc editing for titles That would require a quest script that adds the title to the player.

If you use the server side edit you would need to extend it and change the way it works which by no means is a trivial task for someone without any C++ experience

For 3 you would simply use the hook OnCompleteQuest (if I remember correctly), and then give the player the title :P

And nameless, that thing really isn't a true title

Well Vindicated... I found a really nice compiling guide on the TrinityCore site, and it looks really nice! But my problem is, I really need to know how to script some things! I hate boring bosses! And monsters! And no teleporters! But I am nearly clueless on how to use c++ in a WoW PS Script... So if you know a guide, could you link to me where this guide is? (On C++ scripting for WoW)

On a side note... Get on MsN messenger dangit! I'm on, and I like talking in real time, haha....
I really could use some instant answered easy-mode questions!
(If you don't mind of course, I'd really appreciate it)

I'm aware that it's not a really title but the experience is the thing that matters, right?

Yeah, on aspire there's something called a quest script where the player is passed into the function and all you would have to do is modify the title. However the titles are by id so you would have to look at the CharTitles dbc to find a id
