Ok, i think this is the right section to post these Requests:
First: is there a way to get item id on private servers w/o being a gm or anything else e.g a normal player?.

Second: there is a bug that i know of, which makes any spell either a hot/dot/stun of any kind to stay for ever on the mob, keep in mind that it only works inside instances, but i can't seem to be able to make it work in any way, it just happens randomly to me, i have tried several ways but with vain, so if any one knows about it, can u please post it here, or if u don't want to let it out can u pm it to me?.

[Reflection]

You can look at wowhead or anything similar for retail items. Search for the name and look at the digits on the url bar, for instance Signet of Edward the Odd - Item - World of Warcraft, 44308 being the item ID.

Unless your server has some kind of list, custom application for the server or something like that, I believe you can't find the id's without database access.
