Ytouble connecting to local emulators

I had originally posted this on the Norwegian Elite release thread, but then realized that it impacts me regardless of which Emu I use.

Symptom: I launch SQL and Apache, then start the logon and world servers. All starts correctly. When I attempt to connect with my client, I authenticate and get a world server list. Once I select a server and login, it goes to the character selection screen for a brief second then returns me to realm selection. I've tried this with Trinity, Norwegian, and a couple others with the exact same symptom. Could this be a client problem? I can connect to other emu's just fine.

What other info can I post to assist with some good old fashioned root cause analysis?

For Trinity, you need to use a numerical IP address for the realm address, not a DNS like example.ath.cx.

This is done in the realmd database.
