Script making questions from a beginner

Hello.

I got interested into making my own private server few days ago and did some research regarding it. Today I got my server to run locally on my machine (Was a lot easier than I thought), but my plan was no were near to stop there.

So, I'm using Mangos, and the server is running on 1.12.1 version of WoW. I'm really interested to do some custom scripts for AI, or pretty much anything for the server, but now I feel like I can't get over this one without asking a bit of help.

I've read a lot about C++ coding, so that part is not what I'm asking here. I need to know WHERE do I code, or HOW do I import my scripts for the server? I've tried to search through the guides here and there, read something about ScriptDev2, but I couldn't get the installation instructions, with all the compiling, using Git patches and whatnot. And I'm not even sure if my mangos version can be used with it!

Sorry, this thread is getting really confusing. I'll make an example:

What file do I modify? Is do I make a complitely new one? If so, how do I add the script to a NPC I made it for?

Please, I'd really like to get things going with my server, give or post a step-by-step tutorial on this issue and I'll appreciate it more than you can imagine!

Maybe my OP was a little confusing, so I'll just make a new question to the same thread:

So, is it possible to get a version of Mangos that can run a 1.12.x server, that has the same kind of structure as the newest Mangos versions?

What I mean is:

Looking through the latest Mangos releases, I see that the folder and file structure of those versions include .cpp files, "scripts" -folder etc. I'm using 2804 version of Mangos, because that's used for 1.12.x servers, and I don't have that kind of files there. I'd really like to get my hands to that source code, to see what I could do with it, but I have no interest in running a TBC or WoTLK server.

Well, is there ANY way right now (I know TrinityZero, but it's unfinished at the moment). to run a 1.12.x server with the ability to make custom scripts?
