I said I had it working on Windows Vista which means I had to run it as an Administrator. I know a lot about computer and probably more than a lot of people here.(Not in coding terms but as knowledge of the operating system.)

If you did, you wouldn't be calling Vista a piece of shit. It's a great operating system IF YOU CAN WORK WITH IT.

Please elaborate on your problem, it's damn well vague.

Imo Vista is a piece of crap.

Even Bill Gates himself realised how big a pile of digital junk it was.

    But aside from that.
What kind of error messages do you get? (If any)

I think we need a bit more info if possible :3

If you say it sucks give a reason.
I don't like it either but anyway...
if you are so good at computers go fix your own problem
Why don't you just give it a try?
Run it as admin just do it...

The way I fixed the problem in the past was to foward my ports. Which I have done. I even opened the ports in my Firewall. The error number is: 1045 which is Access denied for user root at localhost blah blah blah using pass yes.

I do remember that I used Version 6 instead of 5.1 because that was the only one that would work at the time. maybe I should try using it again if I can not fix sed problem.

    Sure fire way:
    Uninstall mysql.
    Add/remove programs -> uninstall mysql.
Find any process of mysql -> kill it.
    Restart computer.
    Install mysql 5.1.
    Restart computer to take affect.
    Create instance.

... Saying "it can't create a service" means nothing without an error to show for it.
    What does said error say?

    Sure fire way:

    1. Shoot yourself in the head
    2. Step away from the computer
    3. If still living, restart your modem/router.
    4. Uninstall MySQL, and delete the folder in Program Files
    5. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and make sure no instances of mysql-d, or -nt are running on your process list.
    6. Install again, if it still doesn't work, shoot yourself in the head again.

    I live in a shoe

I would suggest someone use teamviewer to help me...

Windows 7 is quite buggy and might not be able to handle MySQL just yet.... I really want to get a server setup again and I hate vista. Plus XP is just... too... old. I love XP it's just I don't feel like using it again.

EDIT: NVM I fixed it. I knew I had the wrong MySQL installed. Thanks anyways guys <3(no homo)
