How to apply scripts and other content

What do you do with an item or other script once you have created it?


Yes, am I am emu nub. The scripts, languages, software aren't really beyond me but I can't find a guide on how to modify or replace the actual content, just how to create it. (i.e. what files are involved and where)

How do I include scripts, custom models, etc into my wow server?

I am running an arcemu repack.


Also, how do I go about creating a mall? Do you have to load each NPC and reflag them individually? I have a lot of experience doing similar things with DIKU in the mud world but there's got to be premade vendors somewhere...

You cant do it with a repack.Look at one of the compile guides.Theres plenty around

Who on earth releases 'repack' server software where 1/5th of it works and can't be modified? WTF would be the point?

Well, thats why you shouldn't be using repacks Compile the arcemu core and make your own DB.

The only use I have of a repack is the LuaEngine since then I don't have to compile a big server just for Lua Debugging ^^

Anything related to Lua - In game content without core edits or DBC editing can be done via a repack. The same with model editing.
Anything related to core editing, C++ implanting and such is core.

You start of with a source code by an emulater such as ArcEmu or Aspire, then with that code you can put in your own parts (C++) or edit current parts.
Then you compile the core and you have your 'repack'.

With this that means that the only way to update or use core edits is to get your own server.
With a repack you can still make malls, implant most of the stuff in the releases section, anything related to Lua and making custom npc's, malls, gameobjects and such.
You just load up your database and fire away at those tables - If you don't know how to there are guides in the guides section.
