how would i run a mysql on another computer

ok im wanting to host mysql on another computer how would i configure my server to connect to it and how can i configure it to let me connect to it with navicat im used to hosting it on the same computer and am unshure how to do this im wanting to transfer my server to another computer but i want mysql to stay on the same computer thx

I'm not sure this is even possible, I would think it is since you can allow access to others onto the database. Maybe someone more experienced can help you, sorry

are you trying to host MYSQL Server on Computer A and Your Server itself on Computer B? Then you want Computer A to have MYSQL Access to Computer B?

if so,

In your server config files on Computer B enter the host name for your SQL server and as well do the same in navicat from computer A , add connection, enter your Mysql server credentials and you done.
