WAMP? Other Webservers?

Im currently using WAMP server and it works pretty good. But almost all stuff I try doesn't work. So I have to stay with a very basic website and its hard to advance because I always get errors. I think this have to do with WAMP, that it doesn't work with some kind of scripts. So I'm wondering if I can have 2 webservers? Maby other webservers works beter? So Im wondering what webserver I should use and so.. maby Apache? and does it work to just trade webserver like that or is it complicated? Maby it works to have 2 Webservers?

If you're having problems with WAMP you could try XAMPP instead.

XAMPP doesn't seem to work for me. I opened up the XAMPP control pannel and started apache but I still can't access my website. I put some files in htdocs. <-- thats the folder where I put my web scripts right?

I have never used either. so I do not know if they are good or if they are even what you are looking for?

i tried the custom webserver thing once... more of a pain than anything for me. i just use webs.com (pretty versitile) and a link to my acc creation page.

Does anyone know how to install XAMPP? like.. where I shall insert my scripts and how I start the actual server? Maby someone can link me to a guide? I spent hours trying to find one but I can't... its only WAMP guides and... WAMP SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!!!!:yuck:

Sandile, if your website functions or features dont work on Wamp they most likely wont work on any other webservers. I mean there could be exceptions but in general its like that.

What kind of errors the site gives you? because there are certain features that needs to be registered and activated in Wamp conf to adjust it for your website.

I use Wampserver2 and my site has Php, flash, java scripts. Including Forums, Bug track , donation support. I eman i never experienced problems with Wamp

Ok, well how do I configure so everything is enabled then? and I've checked for like website files that are posted [EPIC] and that have over 100 good replies and those things doesn't even work with Wamp.... but if you say everything works with wamp if you configure it right then I believe you. Can you just try to describe how to set-up those things so I can improve my site?

well which site are you trying to launch like is it custom made by yourself or is it a premade site you downloaded?

If so , link the site and i will run it on my box and will see which errors you talking about.

Just downloaded, runing it on my local server using Wamp. Works fine,, i have not seen any errors whats so ever
