what is most up to date

First time I am trying to build private server and I wondered what is the most up to date, bug free, emulator repack. I am pretty noob when it comes to programming and stuff so I want something that is gonna be pretty work free with as few bugs as possible.

Most up to date and bugfree is probably MaNGOS.

But most newbies begin with ascent-based emulators since there are more guides and support for it here. Since it's your first time you might prefer it too.

If you're gonna use MaNGOS I don't recommend using a repack. And if you really don't want to compile, you can download pre-compiled binaries here: Mangos-FAE | Download MaNGOS, How to Install MaNGOS, Download MaNGOS Database: News but you must still read installation guides and install it with scriptdev2 and UDB. I recommend read the guides at their website as they are more up-to-date.

thanks very much for the response....I just found a really good guide....and yes you are right it is for ascent...I am gonna start there and sorta teach myself how to do all this and will probably move on to bigger and better things later....

I also realized shortly after posting question that there is a line of threads that deal particularly with repacks and releases etc....I just wasn't looking in right area...so I apologize for a premature question....my only excuse is that I didn't know what to search for and was (still am) pretty confused by the whole thing

I hope to get better at this as time goes by but will still probably end up posting noob questions......we need a thread devoted to noob questions were those who respond are kind and patient and knowledgeable...heheh
