    Server issue

    Hello, I've basically been trying to get the repack "[Release] Arena Tournament 2009 Server (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...09-server.html)" to work for a couple of weeks and it's starting to drive me, well not insane but it's bothering the hell out of me.

    I've been able to get everything goin' as far as it works just fine for me. The problem starts when people try to connect. They find the server and everything but they get stuck at "Logging in to game server". I've tried without router on offline lan etc if there was a firewall or something spooking around. I've basically tried to put my IP everywhere in these files that I'll post a little further down in this post. It just doesn't want to work, it's no difference where I put my IP those who try to connect always get the same "Logging in to game server". Even with default settings(As Dythzer creater of this repack set them up to begin with) I still get the same thing.

    I've looked all over the place for guides and tried to follow them for hour after hour. Now after all this time put into solving this problem I'm just clueless what to try next. Hope someone here have know where and how to put my IP in correctly so that I and my friends finally can enjoy this amazing repack.

    This is just how I have them atm, I've been trying hundreds alot of different setups. Wherever I got 192.168.0.162 is obviously my IP.

    So it connects to the realm but not the world server. Make sure your realmlist ID is the same as "RealmID" in mangosd.conf (1 in your case). And set BindIP back to "0.0.0.0", this option is only needed if you just want to allow people only from a specific IP, that's why I moved it to the bottom to try to avoid confusions. "0.0.0.0" will allow all.

    The only thing I can think of right now is port 3724 is open but not 8085 (for IP 192.168.0.162). Also, have you checked if there are any errors at server startup?

    I've opened both of them in my router port 3724 and 8085 that is, and there is no errors when starting up the server...

    Have I filled in the info correctly? Since even tho I don't change anything every1 still get the same thing when trying to connect. Just feels like nothing happens even tho I change a whole lot of things...

    There is nothing wrong with those. This is everything you need to do to make it public:

    * Set the IP in the realmlist table to your public IP (or LAN IP if you just want to host it for people inside your network).

    * Open ports 8085 and 3724

    * Disable all firewalls, antivirus just in case

    * Tell your friends to set their realmlist.wtf to your LAN IP or whatever IP you're using

    * Leave "BindIP" as default (0.0.0.0) in both configs

    You can create 2 realms if you want, one with your LAN IP and one with your public IP, just to test.

    In some very rare cases you need to change the default port inside your config files and then forward that port. For example change 8085 to 8086.

    If it still doesn't work then it might be on your friend's side (from where are they connecting? outside network?). Also, what OS are you using?

    I've follow'd the steps you wrote above, but it's still the same result

    I've tryed with a couple of different computers without router (switch offline) and with router. And it's the same end result even tho it's different computers and different network settings, so I do beliave the problem is with me not with those trying to connect.

    I'm currently having Windows XP Pro edition, just reinstalled it to be fresh to install this server on

    192.168.x.x is a "network ip" tho, it will only allow people from your network to connect. If that's what you're trying to accomplish.

    Yepp, that's currently what I'm trying to accomplish. Basically we're having these kind of huge offline lan parties. It would be an awefull lot of fun to have this working there and set up small tournaments and such.

    Trying with computers at my network now aswell

    Updated my codes, I think that my IP doesn't get forwardet properly or something since people get the same thing even tho they doesn't have my IP in their Realmlist.wtf
