connections to my server

I am using my desktop as my server, and trying to connect with my laptop.. My lap top will not connect to the desktop server.. I thought perhaps the issue was because my laptop shares its IP address with the desktop, but I am unsure of this. Is there something I need to do to get my laptop to connect to the desktop server?

There are two things that I can think of.
1. What is your realmlist set to? And is the server public
2. If it is public try setting your realmlist on your laptop to 127.0.0.1

What you have to do it set your realmlist on the computer that the server is NOT being hosted off of, to the 192.168 IP

This can be found by going to.. Start>Run>Cmd>Ipconfig

What you can do is go into Network Connections: And change your internal ip there
