Stuck on realm choosing screen

well ill try to be as simple as possible....i made my server public and everyone connects just fine, (except me) cuz whenever i logon i get stuck on realm choosing screen.

I choose the realm...the "loggin in to game server " message pops for some secs and then it goes back to the realm choosing screen.

I am very sorry for posting this cuz i am aware there are tons of ppl posting similar problems, but not this one exactly....thx for any help

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when making your server public, the IP that others are using to connect to it is different than the one your machine is connecting to.

They use the one you have specified, but I'm thinking that your machine is using 127.0.0.1.

Like I said, if I'm wrong, someone correct me.

Homiebrah is right, Make sure your realmlist is set to 127.0.0.1

my hosts file is edited like this...

127.0.0.1         ftwow.kicks-ass.org
192.168.1.136 ftwow.kicks-ass.org
87.196.49.107 ftwow.kicks-ass.org

i tried changing my realmlist for both 127.0.0.1 and ftwow.kicks-ass.org and still no result...still gets stuck on realm choosing screen...

o would rly apreciate some help in this mattter...if u guyz need more info like .conf files just reply plz

PS: i believe u havent understood my problem, i can coonnect to the server, MY REAL PROBLEM is that i cant get to the character choosing screen, i even tried loggin on with different accounts and still no result, the only way o have to access characters screen is when i reconfigure REALMS.CONF to private....thx once again

Make two realms.

The first one will be your normal one, it will be named whatever you want, the ip should be ftwow.....

The other can be called whatever, but make the ip 127.0.0.1

Also make sure you change number of realms to "2" further up in the configuration. The ports on both realms MUST be the same(both at the default ports). Change your realmlist to 127.0.0.1.

Now you log into the realm with 127.0.0.1 and other people log into the other one. Each realm will take you to the same world server, so eventhough you log in a different realm you will still be with the people in the actual game.

Here's kind of what it needs to be:
<Realm1 Name = "Server Name Here"
Address = "ftwow ip:8129"
Icon = "PVP"
Population = "2"
TimeZone = "2">

<Realm2 Name = "Other server name(local)
Address = "127.0.0.1:8129"
Icon = "PVP"
Population = "2"
TimeZone = "2">

i have this same problem and i made a second realm but it doesnt work for me still. the same error happens with anyone else that trys to connect

Do what I said in the post above. Make sure your hosts file is edited right as gandra did in his second post. Also make sure your ports are forwarded. Some routers/firewalls require you to reboot the router and/or computer to take affect. Check out this site to check your ports:

ok, i got the 2nd realm up, and it works, but now i get d/cd if i make a dk, or if i make a reg char, arcemu-world exe crahses

oh, and after making a dk d/cs me, logonserver.exe crashes when i try to relog

Did you find a database yourself? If so you might want to get a more up to date one. Your database may be out of date so your core isn't compatible and it crashes. Are there any errors(such as messed up table errors?)
