    [NEED-HELP] MySQL problem

I hope I posted this right place :P

    I downloaded a repack which had a MySQL.bat file and a apache.bat file.

When I try to start the MySQL it says:
    Code:
    081226	1:06:40 [ERROR] Can't find messagefile '\ArcEmu Blizzlike\Server\mysql\share\english\errmsg.sys'
    081226	1:06:40 [ERROR] Aborting

    MySQL could not be started
When I try to start the apache it says:

    Code:
apache.exe: Syntax error on line 3 of C:/Private Server/Theo's WoTLK Funserver Repack/ArcEmu Blizzlike/Server/apache/conf/httpd.conf: ServerRoot must be a valid directory

    Apache konnte nicht gestartet werden
    Apache could not be started
Anyone knows the problem? I've also checked if the folders got the right names etc.

    Please help :<

Do you already have a mysql process running?

Ctrl-alt-del, and look it up. If you do then exit that process and try again.
If not then try my guide in the forums that should solve it.
This forums is almost as addicting as chick's n beer! :beerbang:

Do you have Vista or XP?

If you have XP type "cmd.exe" in the run bar(search bar in vista.)

    You should see "C:\>"

If you see "C:\>" then you missed one of the most basic steps to installing a repack...Put it into your "C:\" Folder!

If you do not see "C:\>" then put your repack into whatever directory is shown on the command prompt(Mine shows "D:\>" so my repacks go into my D:\ folder). I'm going to write a tutorial for this website about repack locations in a bit. You should read it once I finish it so you can understand how it works better.

AsgardCX, I've done that too, it doesn't work :'S Can't seem to find 'Application Data' folder neither from your guide.

barinar, I have XP, but I didn't get what you meant..
Am I going to go to: 'Start > Run... > cmd.exe'
and check if it says: C:\>? cuz mine says: C:\Documents and Settings\*MYUSERNAME*\

So could you tell me more detailed? (A) , Thanks

Try launching the both programs directly (apache.exe for apache and mysqld.exe for mysql)

Also make sure that the folder the repack is in doesn't have any symbols in it. For apache you can also check httpd.conf and make sure it points to a valid directory

    Okay, pcrew..

I've tried launching both programs directly and I checked httpd.conf if it points to a valid directory.
Well, 2-3 of the lines didn't.. when I fixed that it said:
Warning: DocumentRoot [C:/ArcEmu Blizzlike/Server/htdocs] does not exist

I think that's correct because there is nothing in my htdocs folder.. :'s

Slakt, check out this guide I made last night. I was right about your default directory, it is not C:\> so your mysql should say "can't find messagefile..."

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/ascent...wo-drives.html

Follow this guide, but where I used "D:" for autorun, you will use "C:", this is if your repack is in C:\Arcemu Blizzlike
