Whats the difference between compiling or using a repack

I have only run a 2.4.3 repack server for about a month, and I just recently went to a 3.0.3 repack. I want to know what the difference is between compiling your own server vs using one of the many 3.0.3 blizz-like repacks available for download.

Do .lua files come with ArcEMU or is that another thing to get along with the DB?

Is there any performance increase or any reason to compile a server for myself other then for the pure fun of it?

    Thanks for the info

If you compile your own you will always have the latest one, but if you choose to use repacks you will have to wait for somebody to compile it for you, add vendors etc :-)

.lua files comes with ArcEmu as far as i know.

Well, as mentioned above.. if you compile ur self, you will be ahead.. if you wait for repack.. you wait

Hope this helped a little ;-)

Additionally, if you compile your own server, you could perform various core hacks and mods that are otherwise inaccessible.
