couple of questions about servers connecting and update

I am having a lot of trouble making my server public with hamachi. I am using mangos and have changed realmlist ip in navicat from 127.0.0.1 to my hamachi ip. I also changed my realmlist in my wow data folder. I have changed the realmlist of a friends to have my hamachi ip. I have restarted mysql service after changing my ip info. I have used a direct connection to the internet (no router) and disabled my firewall with the same on my friends end. I can connect from my computer and we both are on the same network on hamachi. Please help me with this. Someone has to know how to fix this.

And when newer releases come out can you update the database or do you need to start over with another repack? Would Ascent be easier to setup? suggestions?

My suggestion: Get rid of mangos alltogether. It is easier to do it via a ascent or arcemu repack. There is some repacks there for WOTLK and TBC. THat would be the best way to shoot with more reliable sources. Reply if u have any questions about that.

i have tried 2d's, again too many bugs... he has to make his big update as he stated before something good happens. overall a good repack tho. in my opinion u should use this:

Can you recommend a guide I can follow that I can use with one of these repacks. I've only used Moffeman's repack and he had a guide that was very helpful. Also is there anything special I need to do to get rid of my current repack or can I just delete it.

Moffe's was a mangos correct? then it has no affiliation with the two i suggested u can either keep the repack or get rid of it. Here is a pwnage guide for the repacks i recommended

I can connect with Moffeman's and so can other players and yes it is mangos. I had to add my hamachi ip as a user and give global permissions through navicat. Gangastgreen, I repped you for your help.
Can I have two servers on a pc if only one is on at a time without them interfering with each other and just have the one wow installation? I would like to have a mangos and another. Thanks

You shuldnt do with hamachi just weird with extra ip :S

Just fine for what? Hamachi limits the number of people connecting to you and requires them to install a special client just for that.

point taken, yet the installation take about half as much time as setting up a host, plus i doubt any 1 of theese poeople will make a big server, statistically

I disagree. Downloading and configuring Hamachi takes longer than setting up a domain and forwarding ports.
