PC server: hardware?

I've been looking into running my own server off a PC (as a friend did), and I was wondering: for a max of maybe 10 people connected at any given time, how fast does my CPU have to be? Would the server even be playable with a 2.4 ghz Pent 4 (dual-core) with 1.5 gigs DDR RAM?

depending on your connection speed i would say yes... a 10 man server, not running 24/7 does not need hardcore specs anyway
If you had 10 friends playing, maybe best would be to do over LAN... instead of the internet
