Ok can someone tell me what the difference between arcemu and ascent servers are? I'm pretty new to creating wow servers and figured i'd ask this question before I try and create my own

Ascent is arcemu. Arcemu is built of old ascent when Burlex stopped developing it.

Lose...too bad its so widely known that you always have to keep referring to it cause people ask >_< Should start spamming guides on how to compile and repacks based on aspire or ascent, or mangos even.
