    Invalid Username or Password?

Hello, I'm posting this here today after taking a short break from trying to make a private server. Well, I recently downloaded Scyther's most recent repack and configured everything correctly, no errors when booting up, the only thing I have trouble with is logging on.. I've tried everything..

I made another account and I try to log onto both after every slight modification I make to the config files, but at this point, I think those are unrelated.

Please help? I'd really like to explore more before WotLK.

Indeed. I've tried my external IP, static IP and my DNS, along with just localhost and 127.0.0.1...

Well if it's saying wrong account or password, your server is working. Try your retail info or the last server you were on info just to make sure it's changed.
Go to your database, the logon db, accounts, and fill it in. name, pass, id can be whatever, permissions az, flags 8 for tbc or 0 for non-tbc. Once all thats done, save and go to your logonserver.exe. Type into it "reload" and hit enter or just restart it. Now you should be able to log in, if not theres a problem.

Well i guess you used a MaNGOS emulator then...

But cuz that can you NOT create an account by useing the table called "account". You need to create it via. website or mangos.exe(.create <username> <password> .setgm <username> 3 .setexpansion <username> 2)

Or... The other reason is because if you are running an Ascent based Emulator, you will need to encrypt your password otherwise it won't work!
Just leave it your normal password in the text password column and execute this Query in your Logon Database:
    Code:
    update accounts set encrypted_password = SHA(CONCAT(UPPER(login),":",UPPER(password)))
And just restart the server and your account should work.
