Using your own website host to create a server...

I'm trying to create a server with arcemu using my website domain and host. I created a sub-domain (wow.website.com) and tried to redirect with .htaccess my server IP but it doesnt work. (yes the realm conf & realmlist was also edited...or did i miss something else?) It won't even access the apache web site. (that is still with the server)

Question 1 : How do you create, from a owned domain and host, a sub-domain that can redirect to your server's IP (like with dynDNS.com)

Question 2 : Does having the server's mysql database on your website better that having it on the server's localhost? You know...for performance and stuff.
