Working Alpha WoW client & server

Found a working alpha client and figured I'd share it ((Early WoW from before public release, 5.3 version)). This is NOT the one from mmowned, it's the one from wowps.org, if you have used the one from mmowned ((Gilthoniel's or w/e his name is)) and it didn't work for you, this one may. I haven't experienced any crashes yet. To open the console, press the ` button ((for me thats at the far left end of the number keys)). When the console opens up, type in "worldport" ((minus the quotes)) then the coords, "speed" 1-59 or "swimspeed" 1-59. I took a few screenshots, but they aren't like the ones from current-day WoW, they were not automatically chosen to be opened by a certain program. Therefore I could not open the screenshots. If you are curious as to how Alpha WoW looked before downloading from the following links, please search it on youtube, google it, etc.

Teleport.txt - A list of teleports, not from alpha, but many still take you to the same places.

If you can't extract one of the parts, ((6 parts inside each download, 3 in the last)) It may work from a different website, download the following document from and copy & paste each URL into the address bar of the part that wont extract to you:

((I reccommend you download as many from filefront as you can, because it will take forever from rapidshare unless you have a premium account)).

You need WinRAR for this, if you do not have it, follow the link at
WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files. On the download screen, press to open with WinRAR, when WinRAR opens, highlight all of the files inside and press "Extract To" At the top of WinRAR, just extract to the default location. For the server, it needs to be in the same place as the client so if you don't know how to extract them to the same location,



Before you attempt to play after downloading the files, first follow my instructions to make the client work. First thing you need to do is make a shortcut to WoWclient and put it on your desktop. Right click the icon and click properties, where it says target and then has the path, at the end put one space and add : -uptodate : so that the target looks like this:
C:\Users\mike\Downloads\WOW_alpha\WoWClient.exe -uptodate ((doesn't have to have the same path except for the -uptodate part.

To set up the server, go to where you put the client, open the folder called WTF attempt to open the file called config.wtf, when the message pops up saying windows cannot open this file, check the box saying "Select a program from a list of installed programs" press OK then chose notepad to open it. Ontop of what is already in the notepad, add the following :
SET realmName "GEXServ"
SET realmAddress "127.0.0.1"
SET realmList "127.0.0.1"

After doing this, right click the file you just edited and click properties, then check read-only at the bottom of the page then apply. When this is done, open GexServer and at the top right corner of the page, press file and then press "Start server". Choose where you want to start out ((Azeroth means Eastern Kingdoms)), Then press OK, no need to fill out anything else. Do NOT close GexServer, now open Alpha WoW from the icon you created on your desktop, Press OK if a little message pops up. When you get to the logon screen, click on "Change Realm" on the right side of the page, then click GexServ and then OK.

BTW I noticed the 2-4 part links are messed up now >.> if you can't get to them just use the rapidshare links.
