now navicat will not connet to "localhost"
now navicat will not connet to "localhost"
when I install MYSQL server 5.0 there appears a window that he couldn't connect, it's somthing with apply security settings this is the window:
The security setting could not be applied to the database because de connection has failed with the following error.
Error Nr. 1045
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
If a personal firewall is running on your machine, please make sure you have opened the TCP port 3306 for connections. Otherwise no client application can connect to the server. After you have opened the port pleas press [Retry] to apply the security settings.
If you are re-installing after you just uninstalled the MySQL server please note that the data directory was not removed automatically. Therefore the old password from your last installation is still needed to connect to the server. In this case please select skip now and re-run the Configuration Wizzard from the start menu.
[RETRY] [SKIP]
PLZ I NEED HELP AS FAST AS POSSIBLE :S!
not work
When people I give the "Realmlist.wtf" to try to log onto my server it says "Unable to connect", but I can log on no problem and I have all the stuff for Hamachi set up right.

lol I forgot to set the maps in the database now it's work
i have vista and ive been running into problems with Mysql.
after i fully install and it gets time to configure, nothing happens.
so i run the server instance config from start menu and it says: this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.
and when i run it from direct in the mysql program file it says its side by side configuration is incorrect.
ummm ok i forwarded my ports and everything but when i start my server i get "Unsuccessful bind on port 8129" and i looked and that port is being forwarded...help! lol

Yes, I have tried to run MySQL on my laptop with Vista, and it doesn't appear to work. I will research into it soon. Thank you for your patience.

Try to change the port to '8130'. It might be that that port is in use with another program.
Edit: did some research and found out a way to make it work with Vista.
Vista requires that you disable User Account Control (UCA).
To disable UCA, go into Control Panel.
Go into User Accounts and Family Settings.
Click on User Accounts.
Select to turn on User Account Control On or Off.
Your done
that didn't work. any possibility something got lost during the transfer? (has 26k dialup) XP
