HediSQL and Navicat Diffrences and what to use

    SQL editing/executing

This guide is about the difference between Navicat and HediSQL and using them to there fullest

    Programs
    navicat
    HediSQL

    Navicat

Navicat for MySQL is available for three platforms – Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It connects users to any local/remote MySQL Server, providing several database utilities such as Data/Structure Synchronization, Import/Export, Backup and Report, to facilitate the process of maintaining data.

Navicat for MySQL is a powerful Database administration and development tool for MySQL. It works with any MySQL Database Server from version 3.21 or above, and supports most of the latest MySQL features including Trigger, Stored Procedure, Function, Event, View, and Manage User, etc.Features in Navicat are sophisticated enough to provide professional developers for all their specific needs, yet easy to learn for users who are new to MySQL.With Navicat well-designed Graphical User Interface (GUI), Navicat for MySQL lets you quickly and easily create, organize, access and share information in a secure and easy way, taking MySQL administration.

    Personal opinion/facts
-Great for executing large SQL files-- HediSQL Crashes when you try to add a SQL over 5 MB's into your database
    -Easy table editing
-GREAT query very large and easy to edit and see.
-Easy to connect to different databases with different password.
-Two or 3 confusing things like executing a SQL (The first time it took me 2 minutes to find it)
-Icons/tittles for Almost every button (that make sense)
-Havent found a way to edit columns
-Can open more then 1 table at a time.

HeidiSQL is a MySQL front-end that enables you to manage your database and browse table contents from an easy-to-use Windows interface. In addition to common tasks such as running SQL queries, creating, dropping and editing tables, you can also perform various maintenance operations including integrity check, database optimization, repair and more. Furthermore, you can import data from text files, synchronize tables between two databases and export selected tables to other databases or SQL scripts. Other features include editing of BLOBs and MEMOs, support for large SQL scripts, user process management and more. Open Source.

    Personal opinion/Some facts
    HediSQL
    -Cannot Execute Large files
-Easy to add a new record
    -Small Query
-Only one connection in sidebar at a time (Can be a good thing.)
-Tells the the size of each File
    -Enables comments for each table
-Shows you the column's Names before opening the table (The table could be a big table and might take a while to load.
    -Easy column edits

    Conclusion (My opinion)
Navicat is best for every besides Editing columns. Very Confusing to new users.Missing some extra but not needed features.Open 2 Tables on tabs and easy to compare tables.
HediSQL is best for editing columns and tracking your progress.Cannot compare tables.

Yes i know there are my editors then this but these are the most common.
    Thanks hope this was useful/informative

Navicat is great and easy for editing columns, both hedi and navicat fail at executing large files, you need sqlyog if you want to be taken seriously

IMO, using ANY MySQL Frontend to execute large files is just annoying. It's better just to use the mysql command line
(mysql -u root -pPASSWORD -D database < SQL FILE PATH)

I like to use Heidisql for everything besides dumping SQL files, Navicat is MUCH better at that than any other MySQL GUI.
