There is a fast and much easier way to transfer large DBs without having to 'dump' or run the large sql that takes to long.
1. Find your Data folder "\%sql server folder%\data".
2. Then in your data folder find the folder that has the name of the DB your want to transfer. In this case im going to use "world".
3. If the sql server that you wish to transfer it onto is on the same computer then just go to the sql servers data folder. "\%sql server folder%\data" Then paste. There is Added to the server.
END FOR SAME COMPUTER.
If not same computer continue reading.
4. If its not on the same computer then you will have to send it to that computer. I suggest you zip it.
5. Download Teamviewer onto both computers: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer_Setup.exe
6. Run it on both computers. On the computer you are transferring it to just keep it as is.
7. On the computer you are transferring it from on "Create a Session" choose "File Transfer". Get the ID from the "Wait for Session" the enter it in at the "Create a Session".
8. It will prompt you for a password. Get it from the "Wait of Session" password field. Enter it.
9. Then it is straight forward from there.
10. Find the "data" folder and then you unzip the folder to your desktop and then copy and paste it to the "data" folder.
Congratulations you have successfully transfered the db as fast as you could have.
