[Guide] How To Easily Create a Private Server

This is a Basic Guide for a very easy set up and installation of a WoW Private Server using a basic Repack.

** I know there are many guides to this around, this is just
a very simple and basic guides to those who find this whole
concept of a private server confusing**

At the bottom of this guide are links to a few repacks
which you may enjoy.

What you need:
- A Repack (Link at end of thread)
- Database Manager Download Here
- WoW (Lol)

**When your choosing your repack please make sure that it is for the same
version as your WoW! For Example if you download a 3.0.2 repack
and you are only on version 2.4.3 You will be wasting your time setting up
the server because at the end you will get a error message saying unable
to validate game version. **

First:
After you have chosen your repack and downloaded it, Place it on your
desktop, now normally a repack would either be in the format of .ZIP
or .RAR or .EXE If it is in .RAR or .ZIP right click the file and choose
extract to... and choose your C: Drive(if you don't have room choose
a different drive) Once it has finished Extracting to C: or where ever
you have chosen, Find that file and open it.

Second:
The Content of your Repack:
Inside your repack folder you will find:
- Arcemu_Rev*** or Ascent/Mangos
- Server
- Tools
- Readme

What you need to do is Open Tools Then choose your version (Normally EnGB or EnUS)
and inside Those folders are two things, AD and a blank folder named
"maps." Now you can either move them or copy them, it does
not matter, but what does matter is you NEED to put AD And Maps into
your World Of Warcraft folder, Once placed inside your folder run AD,
(If your running vista right click on AD and choose run as administrator)
You should see a black cmd box opening, do not close this, these are your
maps extracting, now normally the maps take about 20 minutes to extract
it depends on the speed of your computer.

Third:
Once the Maps Have Extracted, You need to move the Maps folder from
your World of warcraft folder into your ArcEmu Folder (Or Mangos or Ascent)
To make sure your maps have extracted open the maps folder, the maps
should go up to around 590 odd, im not 100% sure.
Inside some repacks there are emulation starters, (Filebeam - Free Fast File Hosting Credits to john!)
What you need to do now is either:

*A. open the emulation starter, which it will ask to you locate, Apache.bat
and MySQL.bat and logonserver.exe and world.exe, Apache and MySQL are
in the "Server" file and logonserver and world are located in the folder
"Arcemu/ascent/mangos" I recommend using a Emulator starter because
they automatically restart the server if crashes.
*B. Enter the Server folder and run MySQL you should see a black box
open, do NOT shut this! Your server will not work without this open.
Then open your database manager (Heidi SQL) and it will ask you to open
a connection, It will ask for a Name, IP, User, password. The name is
what ever you want it to be, (Best if you call it Localhost) and in the IP
box just put Localhost and the username and password 90% of the time
is root and ascent. *(Unless it has been changed if so it will be in the
readme file in your repack.)

Fourth:
You are now connected to the Database (you can't connect if MySQL is not
open at the time) Now There are normally 4 sections, Ascent, Logon,
MySQL and Jomala. You need Logon. Then select the table "Accounts"
then create a new row, Normally like this [ 1 ] [ Theo ] [Password] and
then scroll to the right and you will see a column "GM" and then in your
row put in Az if your on Ascent/Arcemu or 3 If on Mangos. Then save
the changes and close Heidi SQL.

Fifth:
Now Open Your ArcEmu/Ascent/Mangos folder, find the subfolder called
"Configs" then open Realms, Then find this....

<LogonServer Address = "IP Address" < Change IP to 127.0.0.1 
             Port = "8093"
              Name = "Default Logon"
              RealmCount = "1">

And Then Find This....

<Realm1 Name = "Theo's Ultimate FunServer" 
         Address = "IP Address:8129" < Change IP to 127.0.0.1
         Icon = "PVP"
         Population = "1.0"
         TimeZone = "1">
* MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT ERASE THE :8129 THIS IS IMPORTANT

Then Save and Close That File....Make Sure You Save it
World.config is easy to understand, You do not have to edit this to
make your server work, this changes veriables such as the XP rate
and the Drop chances and level caps and many more.

Finally, Sixth:
Open Your Emulation Restarter Or Manually Open These Files In THIS order
First, MySQL. (If you still have it open from before, close it and reopen)
then Open Logonserver.exe then make sure on Logonserver.exe is shows
no error messages and then finally open World.exe. Then wait for it to stop
scrolling down fast with all this gibberish some of you won't understand
and it should end at "Realm name Verifed" or something similar to that.
If that shows up, All you need to do now is Change your realmlist to
127.0.0.1 and Open WoW And Login and play!

Congratulations! You are now the owner of your very own Server!!

** While on Localhost (127.0.0.1) only people on your computer can
access your server, nobody else can connect but you. **

Getting Other People On Your Server!

Now once playing on your own server with nobody else
has got boring...now you will want to let your friends
connect! To Do this you need the following:
- Hamachi

** If you struggled to set up the above guide about the Repack, Do not
attempt this...it is harder...**

Download Hamachi: Hamachi - Download

Set up and install Hamachi, When installing Hamachi Do not Choose
Free Premium Trial...because this will soon run out and you will need to pay
to continue.

Once Hamachi is installed and Opened, You will see a IP At the Top of
the box. Somthing like 3.190.105.160. That is what your friends will need
to set as their realmlist, But first you need to edit some things

Remember your config files? Yes...those text documents while ends on ends
of gibberish writing...you need to go back into those again!
Enter Realms.Config and find once again:

<LogonServer Address = "127.0.0.1" < Change to your HAMACHI IP
             Port = "8093"
              Name = "Default Logon"
              RealmCount = "1">

<Realm1 Name = "Theo's Ultimate FunServer"
         Address = "127.0.0.1:8129" < Change To your HAMACHI IP 
        Icon = "PVP"
         Population = "1.0"
         TimeZone = "1">
Once Again...DO NOT ERASE THE :8129

Now Close And Save Your Config, Now You need to make
your friends account. Using The Steps above which you
used to make your own account. Then once again, Open
up your server, Remember you must change YOUR Realmlist
to your hamachi IP now aswell!

Congratulations! You can now play with your friends!

What row? there is no add row button, there is 'edit table' button but how to configure...what [1] what [Password] which [GM] column...i am seeing those things but that points needs to be explained more, could you please explain it in a more noob friendly way by referring to the exacts terms as seen in programs...thx

Lol. There are two ways. From The Logon > Character Database or ingame type .honor or .mod honor (Not sure) and a list of commands will come up.

this repack is awesome guys, all you need is provided at the mall and there is a great teleporter...

last 2 questions:

1-) i know it's not just about this repack, i saw it in all other private servers too, is there any way at all to have proper scripts working for raid bosses...i googled but cant seem to find a good collection of scripts that can make these mobs do something other than melee. could you please suggest any place or documents which would solve this scripting issue. how can i get bosses scripted?

2-) and just for the sake of learning, why is it too hard to run servers with scripted mobs/bosses? everything is modified, it seems getting mobs act WoW-like should be the easier part...

(i'm using the theo fun server v2.0) and i had a server before so i'm not exactly new to this but my knowledge of mysql is kind of weak.


when i open mysql it pops up with an error saying...

when i try to connect using HeidiSQL i enter the info
description: localhost
hostname/ip: localhost
user:root
password:ascent
port: 3306

and get an error message saying...

SQL Error: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

For the error with the Mysql unable to find AC Web Ultimate Repack, You 90%
of the time forgot to move Ac-Web Folder from Theo's Repack folder, You
cant use the server while the repack is in Theo's folder.

And...You can't connect to your Database without MySQL Open...and you
can't open MySQL without moving the Ac Web ultimate repack folder into
your C: Drive.
