So I was trying to make a ghost wolf minipet today ... and it took me abit but I found out. Its quite simple, really. However, there was no guide here so I figured I'd share my idea.
Step 1: Open up WoWHead and find the non-combat pet you are willing to completely get rid of to create a new one. For this guide I will be using a 'Black Tabby' minipet.
Step 2: Click the text after 'Use:' it should be something similar to 'Right click to summon your xxx'.
Step 3: You'll arrive at a spell, look for the 'effect' line under Spell Details. Look for the number after 'summon'. For the Black Tabby it says Summon (7383). The '7383' is the creature ID, remember this.
Step 4: Open up your DB editor and find the ID for the mini-pet you are changing.
Step 5: Now, change the displayid of that creature (for instance the black tabby) to that of what you want it to become. Mine would be the ghost wolf. You may want to scale it down a little! (if you know how)
Step 6: You may want to change the name of the item and the name of the npc, if you want it to seem more custom. Then reload your tables and voila! You're done! You now have your own custom minipet.
I'll make a video soon.
Here's another I made.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST USING ADE for model switching. FOUND HERE. http://www.mmowned.com/forums/progra...0-06-08-a.html
I take no credit for that program.
